Net Insight expands pan-Asian live media trials with Nimbra 1020G
Stockholm, Sweden – September 28th, 2026 – Net Insight introduces the Nimbra 1020G as a new part of the trial capability within its pan-Asian live media network, giving customers and partners a new way to evaluate best-in-class IP migration, 2110 and JPEG XS workflows, and controlled interconnection between independent operated media environments. The trial capability complements the existing Nimbra 520 flexible media edge and addresses the broad range of real-world customer scenarios across the regional network.
Nimbra 1020 offers a distinct flexible media edge toolkit compared to the Nimbra 520 than Nimbra 520. The Nimbra 520 enables bandwidth-efficient contribution and distributed workflows, while the Nimbra 1020G is particularly suited to customers moving from SDI/ASI and traditional gateway-based infrastructure toward IP, introducing 2110 and JPEG XS at the facility edge, or connecting independently operated media infrastructure. Through the new partner network, these migration and interconnect scenarios can now be evaluated under real-world conditions before deployment.
Similar to the Nimbra 520, the Nimbra 1020G brings this flexible feature suite together in a compact 1U modular form factor, combining ethernet switch, trust boundary and open automation as standard, without requiring core-scale footprint, power consumption and cost at every location.

A key capability available for evaluation is the SMPTE RP 2129 compliant IP Media Trust Boundary, which creates a full IP media-service handoff between independently managed IP networks. Nimbra 1020G supports up to 1024 fully monitored Trust Boundary flows, from highly compressed streams to full uncompressed 2110 4K, 64 channels of ST 2110/TR-07 compression and 600 Gbps of lossless Ethernet switching, providing a compact, high-density scale point for facility connectivity, contribution, remote production and controlled interconnect.
Together with Nimbra 520 and Nimbra Edge, the addition of Nimbra 1020G gives Net Insight’s APAC partners a broader environment for demonstrating and validating customer workflows as live media infrastructure evolves from legacy interfaces toward open, controlled IP.
