Net Insight and NDT Group serve the 12th World Games 2025 in Chengdu
The 12th World Games was held in Chengdu from August 7 to August 17, 2025, and it was the first time that Chinese mainland hosted the World Games. Nearly 4,000 athletes from 116 countries and regions participated in this Games, with a total of 34 major events, and 256 sub-events, including martial arts, dragon boating, rock climbing, frisbee, roller skating, flag rugby, soft hockey, softball, freediving and more.
Net Insight once again partnered with NDT Group to deliver advanced video and audio network transmission services for the World Games. Building on their successful collaboration during the Chengdu World University Games in 2023 , the teams enabled seamless coverage of this global event.
The project included dedicated transmission from 27 sites, carrying both 4K and HD signals. Coverage spanned the opening and closing ceremonies as well as multiple landscape cameras. In total, more than 150 channels were transmitted.
All signals were processed using Net Insight’s Nimbra 640 platform with its JPEG XS light compression technology. This ensured visually lossless quality and achieved ultra-low latency performance — critical for live sports and large-scale events.
In addition, the signal distribution service for the Games was provided by Vivaro Media , and they provided the transmission of events to all Rights Holding Broadcasters through two Nimbra 640s connected to Vivaro Media’s global Nimbra media network POP (Point of Presence) points in Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
Following the event, International Sports Broadcasting (ISB), the Host Broadcaster of the Chengdu World Games, expressed high satisfaction with the transmission performance, emphasizing that Net Insight’s equipment is consistently stable and reliable, making it the preferred choice for large-scale events, with outstanding JPEG XS light compression capabilities.
