Through an overlay service-oriented approach to provide 5G time synchronization out to base stations or the radio access networks, Precision TimeNet enables an open and vendor agnostic network infrastructure.

The solution provides high scalability and is resilient to both node, link and clock failures. It is interoperable with PTP and can work together with PTP and GNSS solutions. For MSOs, Precision TimeNet is flexible and can be used in different scenarios: as the main time synchronization throughout the entire network, as a complement to existing GNSS or PTP implementations or as a backup that at any time can be scaled up to a complete solution. The solution enables operators’ 5G TDD time synchronization to grow and develop independent of the network transport, which allows for virtualization and cloud solutions.
