The Nimbra-based solution transports JPEG2000-compressed video feeds and data services from the Four Seasons’ Tranquilo Golf Course to its main production facility, and a return video feed back to the golf course. The remote production solution offers a plug-and-play system and remote management of equipment for live events and instructional golf content.
This is Golf Channel’s first hardened venue solution to be managed in-house. Previously, Golf channel utilized managed services from service providers on an occasional use basis. Golf Channel also utilizes Net Insight’s resource scheduling software ScheduALL.
“This technology allows us the capability to extend our studio to a more realistic golf course setting for instructional content, which equates to accessibility, quality and return on investment,” says Bob Van Deering Director, Systems Design and Transmission at Golf Channel.
Net Insight’s solution provides a streamlined approach to a complex problem. “We utilize CWDM to maximize our connectivity around the practice facility, and autosensing fiber switches to detect which tee box is being used by the crew,” says Dennis Milewski, director, Systems Services, Golf Channel. “The connectivity to Golf Channel’s studios requires no manual intervention and allows for a quick setup and easy broadcast execution. Being able to purchase a turnkey system from a single vendor made Net Insight an easy choice.”
